For a cultural interlude during your stay at Huys te Britten, why not visit the Katwijk Museum? The Katwijk Museum, located in the former fishing village, highlights the art of painting that took place along the coast around 1900, and the history of fishing.
In future, icons and depictions of Rijndorp, where there were many market gardens, will be allocated their own space in the building. Furthermore, many subjects related to fishing and painting can be seen in the museum: ship models, net-menders, a sail maker, the merchant navy, domestic scenes of a ship owner and of a fisherman's help, utensils, clothing, jewellery, textiles, Katwijk's general history, archaeological discoveries, and a look at the Katwijk dialect.
